Youth League team draw with PSV
Paris Saint-Germain's Youth League team shared a six-goal thriller with their counterparts from PSV Eindhoven at the PSG Campus.
STARTING XI
Laurendon - Boly (Nzinga, 84'), El Hannach, Diandaga, Cordier - Tape (Abo El Nay, 84'), Diaby, Khafi (Drame, 64') - Mbaye, Sangaré, Ayari (Jangeal, 64').
THE SCENARIO
The aim of the Parisian youngsters was clear against PSV Eindhoven at the PSG Campus. After two defeats to Girona (0-2) and Arsenal (0-1), opening their European account was the priority.
It was certainly quite a game between two clubs renowned for their youth academy development. PSV struck first through Van Duiven (0-1, 7'), but Yanis Khafi's powerful header brought the hosts level (1-1, 19').
A threat from set-pieces, the visitors struck again from a corner as Merien finished from close range (1-2, 38'). But the Parisians bounced back once again and in style: Mahamadou Sangaré raced down the right, cut inside, and bent a superb effort into the far top corner to make it all square again (2-2, 40').
The second half was just as eventful. Khafi grabbed his second of the game after some good work by Boly on the right to put the Parisians ahead just after the hour mark (3-2, 63'). The young Red-and-Blues might have scored again, but instead it was PSV's turn to show resilience as another Van Duiven strike bookended a superb game (3-3, 79') even if Abdou Dramé almost grabbed the win for the hosts only to find the crossbar late on.
Next up for the Parisians in continental competition will be a game with Atlético Juvenil at the PSG Campus on 6 November.
