Three Parisians visit the Rothschild Foundation Hospital

On Tuesday, Mauro Icardi, Sergio Rico and Rodrigo Corrales went to the bedside of sick children at the Rothschild Foundation hospital for a few moments of happiness.

It was a surprise, and not just any surprise. The paediatric ward was visited by Mauro Icardi, Sergio Rico and handball player Rodrigo Corrales to bring joy to the children, as Florence Mahe Dombis, Director of Patronage of the Rothschild Foundation, explained: "This is the first visit we have received from Paris Saint-Germain - Les Enfants d'Abord. We went to see children undergoing complicated surgeries, and the players brought them happiness, exchanges, jokes about football... Seeing the children react with great happiness is great!"

The three Parisians visited about twenty rooms, distributing gifts and smiles. For a moment, these young children were able to forget their conditions - and that spelled mission accomplished for Sergio Rico but also for Argentine striker Icardi: "It's important to visit these children because they are locked up all day in hospital, in beds. Giving them the opportunity to smile is something we care about. This can help them in their fight against the disease."

Rodrigo Corrales made the link between the Spanish speakers and the children present. But in the end, it was not he who won the vote: "The children love Mauro, for them he is a 'maestro'. He managed to make an 8-month-old girl laugh, who can't even speak! It's incredible," he joked after the visit. An important moment for these children but also for athletes, as the handball player mentioned: "This is important for them, of course, but also for us. This allows us to realize that we are privileged. A child's smile is worth more than anything."

The beginning of a long collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and the Rothschild Foundation Hospital.
