The PSG Academy opens its doors to children from Osaka!

During their summer tour of Japan, Paris Saint-Germain opened a temporary PSG Academy in Osaka, with two training sessions a day. Over the course of the week, around a hundred children were able to learn about football with Parisian coaches and the method that has made the PSG Academy such a success around the world.

Located in Green Sakai, on 27 July the PSG Academy welcomed children from Yao Katsura junior high school, a school in a working-class district of south-east Osaka that offers football to its pupils as part of their school time. Club legend and former J-League player Patrick Mboma took part in the session, much to the delight of the children.

Nadia Benmokhtar, Director of the PSG Academy, said: "We are delighted to share our passion with the young people of Osaka and to offer them the opportunity to play football and improve with our coaches. We received a very warm welcome from the moment we arrived, and we would like to thank everyone who made this initiative possible. Paris Saint-Germain is becoming increasingly popular in Japan. The PSG Academy, which opened a year ago in Tokyo, is growing. We look forward to continuing to expand our Academy throughout the country in the coming months."

In 2022, the Club's first tour of Japan confirmed the enthusiasm for the club and the mutual desire to open a PSG Academy, marking a new stage in the international development of the Paris Saint-Germain brand. The Club is currently on its second tour of Japan in two years, and already has a strong presence in Japan with a fan club, shops in Tokyo and Nagoya and a growing presence on social media, notably Line and Twitter in Japanese.

In just a few years, the PSG Academy has become one of the most renowned football academies in the world. The programme is praised by all observers for the quality of its coaches, the methodology developed and the facilities the Club uses to welcome its children.
