The U19s defeat Nantes to win the French Championship!

On Sunday 8 June, Paris Saint-Germain's young guns won the French U19 Championship for the second year running thanks to a stunning 2-1 victory over FC Nantes!

STARTING XI

Vignaud, Zague, El Hannach, Kamara, Tape, Fanne Dramé, Cordier, Diaby, Camara (c), Ndjantou Mbithca, Nsoki.

THE MATCH

The game got off to a good start and the Parisians soon began to threaten. Oumar Camara was the first to distinguish himself for the capital club, but his effort went wide (7'). Nantes responded, forcing a superb save from the Parisian keeper to keep the score level (17'), but Les Canaris continued to push and bagged the opener a few minutes later (1-0, 20').

The Parisians wasted no time in responding, however, with Yoram Zague levelling the score just two minutes later (1-1, 22'). The two sides kept going back and forth until the last quarter of an hour, when Les Rouge et Bleu managed to break the deadlock thanks to a precious goal from Camara (1-2, 80'). It was a victory that showed a lot of character, Paris having dug deep to come from behind and win, and one that made Les Titis back-to-back champions, as they took the league title last season well!
