Spray Kit Paris Saint-Germain x ABSTRK x Evolve!
Hot on the heels of the success of the Rebond ball and the Kuumba incense holder, Spray Kit Paris Saint-Germain – the third product in the new #PSGLIMITED range for 2021 – features three Elvove cans of spray paint (red, blue and gold) and a PSG stencil designed by the American graffiti artist, ABSTRK. Following his mural in Miami on the club’s summer tour in 2017 and his performance at the megastore in October 2019, ABSTRK is delighted to continue his relationship with the Parisian club.
“It’s an honour to see my work, created with my favourite tool, highlighted in this collaboration with Paris Saint-Germain,” he said. “While spray paint has always been an unconventional medium in the art world, it is essential in our culture, the ultimate form of expression. It crosses the boundaries set by the authorities and, in the eyes of the public, is one of the most powerful means of expression. To put it simply, it’s a way of publicly capturing a moment in time and saying, ‘I was there’.”
Paris Saint-Germain’s association with street art dates to the 1990s and has seen our talented ultras spice up the walkways of the Tribune Auteuil, Estim create the Wall of Legends around the Parc des Princes, the creation of Champions League matchday posters, and special projects with artists such as Jonone, Kongo, Mambo, Futura 2000, Ceizer, and Steven Harrington.
And to paraphrase NTM, the most iconic of French hip-hop acts, who hail from Seine Saint-Denis and who started out as graffiti and tagging artists before moving into rap…
