Paris Saint-Germain break ticketing records at the Parc des Princes

Fans have been flocking to the Parc des Princes this season with Paris Saint-Germain’s international profile booming. The 2018/19 campaign has been another record season for ticket sales, with ‘Sold out’ signs have gone up at every home match since 17 May 2017.

Paris Saint-Germain set new ticketing records in 2019, selling more than 1,230,000 seats over the course of the season. The Parc des Princes has had capacity crowds at every single game for the second season running, selling out more than 50 matches in a row. The average 2018/2019 attendance at the Parc des Princes was 47,300, keeping the occupancy rate at 99%.

The 2018/19 season saw the international appeal of the Parc des Princes reach new heights. Foreign fans made up over 20% of the single-ticket purchases for Paris Saint-Germain’s home matches during the campaign. People of no fewer than 166 different nationalities came to the stadium over the course of the season, with 12% from the USA and 8% from Brazil, a reflection of the club’s growing influence around the world. Interest in Paris Saint-Germain has also grown in neighbouring countries with a strong footballing culture, with some 8% of foreign spectators at the Parc des Princes coming from the UK, 6% from Italy and 5% from Germany.

These new attendance records have contributed to an increase in the club’s matchday revenue, which totalled nearly €115m for the 2018/19 season. The club has nevertheless made a point of continuing to pursue a policy that ensures tickets are affordably priced. A quarter of tickets were sold for less than €20 and more than a third (35%) for under €25.

Demand for tickets to the Parc des Princes is sure to be very strong once again next season, with season tickets already sold out and over 18,000 people on the waiting list.

In preparation for next season, Paris Saint-Germain is already putting together its package and single ticket offers, the first of which will become available as soon as the 2019/20 fixture list is announced.
