One lucky fan goes behind the scenes at the Parc des Princes

Having been the lucky winner of the 'Golden Barre' crossbar challenge in December, Pierre spent the day alongside the club's players and staff for a workshop at the Parc des Princes.

A story in three parts is what unfolded between a 25-year-old supporter and Paris Saint-Germain. Having been a spectator at the match between Paris and Monaco on 12th December last year, Pierre was chosen to step onto the pitch at half time and try his luck at the traditional 'Golden Barre' crossbar challenge. Bingo: the Guadeloupean's shot from 40 yards out hit the crossbar in what was an unprecedented feat for the 2021-22 season!

As a result, Pierre was invited to the Parc des Princes a few months later to spend a timeless day with the Paris Saint-Germain players. After being offered a royal welcome into the Rouge et Bleu fortress, Pierre was given the chance to rub shoulders with the players across different workshops and experience a unique moment in the life of a supporter.

The lifelong Paris Saint-Germain fan took the opportunity to open up about the love story that has bound him to the capital club since as far back as he can remember.

"I'm a huge fan of Paris Saint-Germain, and my story with Paris started out when I was little. I come from Guadeloupe, but my father used to travel a lot between Paris and Guadeloupe. That's how I started following the club. Ronaldinho and Pauleta had me buzzing. Thanks to them, I've loved this shirt ever since I was little. For my studies, I came to Paris in 2017, and that's when I started regularly going to games. Nowadays, I'm a doctor in Rennes, but whenever I come to Paris, I try to go to a game. On the day of the crossbar challenge, I'd come to Paris with some friends, so we obviously had to go to the Parc. I was lucky enough to be chosen to play at half time, and I won!"

Pierre then got the chance to go behind the scenes of a workshop that is organised several times a year, accompanying the players to their different activities.

"Paris ARE THE club FOR ME"

"Paris Saint-Germain are an escape mechanism for me. They're a breath of fresh air in my day-to-day life. They're the club for me. Today, I got to go behind the scenes of all of the photo shoots, and I got to see what goes on behind the workshops and the videos. I got to take photos and be at the heart of the club's media activities. I didn't realise just how jam-packed these days are. I feel really happy to have taken part in this day; I was looking at everything wide-eyed, with a fan's eyes. It still hasn't sunk in that I spent the day with all of these massive players. I took so many photos, and I want to hold onto that feeling of happiness. I'd like to thank the club and the club's staff for such a great day and thank the players for playing along."
