March for Equality to mark the 10th anniversary of Go Girls!, the Foundation shines the spotlight on equality

In 10 years, more than 500 girls have benefitted from the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation’s pioneering programme.

To celebrate the anniversary of Go Girls! - a programme that encourages girls to take up sport - the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation is shining the spotlight on equality for the whole month of March. For one month, all of the initiatives led by the Foundation will address and promote equality. The quarterfinal of the Women’s Champions League, which will see Paris Saint-Germain face FC Bayern Munich on 30th March at the Parc des Princes, will round off this month of campaigns and will be attended by famous faces who are well-known for their commitment to promoting equality.

Throughout the month of March, the participants in the Go Girls! programme will be invited to take part in various events organised by the club, for the chance to get to know one other better and share some unforgettable experiences. They will even be recruited as ball-girls when the women’s team play Montpellier on 11th March.

The women that benefit from the Go Women! programme, run in collaboration with the Du Côté des Femmes charity, will also be involved in the events organised over the course of the month. Around forty women, all victims of violence, and their children will be invited to chat to the players from the women’s team during a training session. Launched three years ago, the Go Women! programme aims to boost the confidence and self-esteem of women who have suffered from violence, through a special programme of sporting and cultural activities.

The high point of this celebration of equality will take place on Wednesday 9th March in the Parc des Princes, the day the men’s team encounter Real Madrid in the Champions League in Madrid and the day after International Women’s Day. The girls and women involved in the Foundation’s programmes will be invited to enjoy a day full of fun and sporty activities, alongside various special guests: current and past players from the women’s team, the women’s U19 players, some of the club’s female judokas, freestyler Lisa Zimouche, actress Fanny Sidney (who starred in the series Dix pour Cent), the Les Filles de Paris fan club, and artist Johanna Tordjman, who will create a piece specially for the Foundation. The boys from the Youth Academy will also be invited to take part in sports competitions with the participants of the Go Girls! programme, to raise their awareness about equality. The day will be rounded off with a series of discussions led by Vanessa Le Moigne about the women’s football team and the role of women in football and society, before all of the participants come together for an evening of sport at the Parc des Princes.

Throughout the month of March, the theme of equality will be at the heart of the Foundation’s activities:

From 14th to 18th March, conferences and workshops dedicated to equality will be organised for the 64 participants in the Rouge & Bleu School in Mantes-la-Jolie.

On 16th March, the Radio Necker programme - which was introduced in summer 2020, in partnership with the Necker Hospital for Sick Children - APHP, to provide relief for children being treated in the hospital - will address the subject of equality.

On 19th March, workshops to raise awareness about equality will be organised for the 200 students who benefit from the Parc des Princes’ food bank, an operation initiated last November that distributes food and hygiene products to students in need.
