A Snapchat Face Lens to celebrate the 10th title!

Paris Saint-Germain, the newly crowned Champions of France 2021-2022, took home a historic 10th Ligue 1 title in the Club’s history, and is therefore launching a Face Lens on Snapchat.

For the historic occasion, Atomic Digital Design developed an augmented reality experience that allows fans to continue their celebrations through a Face Lens. This will allow them to proudly show the golden Paris Saint-Germain crest on their face, but also to transform one of the symbols of France, the Eiffel Tower, into the club’s number one supporter. Thanks to the Landmarker format, when passing in front of the Eiffel Tower, it is now possible to bring a sea of stars to the famous landmark which will turn gold as it recreates the Paris Saint-Germain crest.

Always looking to provide entertainment for our many fans in France and overseas, Paris Saint-Germain is taking advantage of its 10th Ligue 1 title to create a Face Lens on Snapchat. The club invites its French fans and the many tourists visiting Paris to film the Eiffel Tower via Snapchat, comments Anthony Baca, Deputy Digital Director of Paris Saint-Germain.

This activation makes reference to the ‘Millions of Stars’ campaign that was created by the club from the capital in tribute to all current and former players, but also to the fans, employees and partners who have allowed the club to leave an extraordinary mark on the history of French football.

The decision to use Snapchat to celebrate this victory has not been taken by chance given that Paris Saint-Germain, one of the most influential clubs globally on the digital landscape, boast 1.6 millions followers on the platform. It was therefore only natural that Snapchat was chosen to extend the celebration of this historic moment for the club from the capital’s supporters.

We are extremely honoured to work with Paris Saint-Germain on the celebration of their 10th Ligue 1 title. They are one of the most creative and avant-garde teams in terms of their use of digital technology. This time, Paris Saint-Germain have taken full advantage of Snap’s augmented reality to provide a unique experience for the club’s fans, using the emblematic Parisian monument: the Eiffel Tower,  explains Kahlen Macaulay, Senior Manager, Sports Partnerships at Snap.
