A look back at the eighth Paris Saint-Germain Academy World Cup
From 11 to 14 May 2024, more than 450 players aged between 10 and 15 from 14 countries took part in the eighth edition of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy World Cup!
This eighth edition took place for the very first time in its history in a magical place for children: the brand new Campus PSG in Poissy!
From 11 to 14 May, 33 PSG Academy teams from all over the world (Turkey, Qatar, West Indies, Canada, Brazil, France, USA, UK, Hong Kong, Rwanda, Kuwait, UAE, South Korea and Egypt) competed to determine the winners of the PSG Academy World Cup in three categories: Womenn's U11, U13 & U15.
Alongside the tournament, the children had the opportunity to experience a real Parisian adventure, with a trip on a bateau-mouche, a tour of Paris, a VIP tour of the Parc des Princes before the clash between PSG and Toulouse, a celebration of the French league title, shopping at the Megastore, a visit to the Parc des Princes, etc.
On Tuesday 14 May, for the grand finals of the tournament, Brazil's U11s took on Canada's U11s. After a fierce battle, which went to penalties, Canada finally prevailed.
However, Brazil had the chance to take revenge by winning the U13 final against the French, who lost 2-0 despite a strong performance.
Finally, the U15 girls from Canada and France faced off under the watchful eye of two Paris Saint-Germain professionals: Sandy Baltimore and Laurina Fazer. France opened the scoring, but were eventually pegged back by a Canadian team unbeaten throughout the competition.
This eighth edition of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy World Cup ended with an emotional closing ceremony. Teams from all over the world had a great time visiting the capital and playing at the prestigious Campus PSG. See you next year for the ninth edition, which promises to be even more competitive!
