Paris Saint-Germain will soon celebrate their 50th anniversary. Relive with us, in 12 key dates, the major moments of the foundation of the capital club in 1970, a club that’s now won more trophies than any other in France. Today, act 4: June 26 1970.
June 26 1970, another stage in the creation of Paris Saint-Germain Football Club…An extraordinary meeting of the Administrative Council of the brand new capital club confirms the different sectors for the associates, and Pierre-Etienne Guyot is officially elected president.
28 geographical sectors are created for the 18,400 associates of Paris Saint-Germain, with a sector chief, section delegates and a delegate who will look afetr a group of 20 associates, the principle of "socios" having been put into place by the new board of directors.
A few days earlier, the annual subscription fee was set at 35 francs, a little more than 5 euros...
In each sector, the meetings of the associates will be organised to explain the evolution of the club, to answer questions associates may have, and to designate the delegates of the associates.
28 sectors to represent the different sectors of Paris and its region, as at the time the Parisian club didn't have the ambition of becoming known abroad, and even in provincial France, as they share the 28th and final sector!
