QSI - 10 years already!

In this month of June 2021, Paris Saint-Germain celebrate the ten year anniversary of the arrival of Qatar Sports Investments at the head of the club. A chance for PSG.FR to look back at the best moments of the past decade. Today, we're looking at the new owners' arrival that sent the club into a different dimension.

Named as Paris Saint-Germain President back in 2011, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi became the key figure of the club from the capital's new project. A new start both on the field and in the brand's development that lead to numerous successes. 

On the pitch first of all, Paris Saint-Germain have became an undeniable force. Big players with international reputation arrived from European giants and was the first big impact made by the new board. After so many games and emotional moments, Paris Saint-Germain have recorded some crazy statistics over the last ten years: 1314 goals scored in 553 official matches, with 399 victories and 258 clean sheets.

The Paris Saint-Germain men's team have, since 2011, won 27 trophies: 7 times French league champions (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020), 6 Coupes de France (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021), 6 Coupes de la Ligue (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020), 8 Trophées des champions (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020). Crazy numbers that have led the club from the capital to becoming the French club with the most trophies.



The Paris Saint-Germain women's section also saw a turn of form with QSI's arrival in Paris, and the hard work paid off. En 2018, the Rouge et Bleu lifted the Coupe de France, first trophy won since 2008 (Challenge de France), before becoming French champions for the first time in their history, in 2021.

Paris Saint-Germain Handball have won 19 trophies since 2011: 8 French championship titles (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021), 4 Coupes de France (2014, 2015, 2018 and 2021), 4 Trophées des champions (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019), 3 Coupes de la Ligue (2017, 2018, 2019).



Always as thoughtful of respecting Paris Saint-Germain's history while looking ahead to the future, and under Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's guidance, the club restarted their Judo section in September 2017, helped notably by the legend of the sport Teddy Riner, and inaugurated PSG eSports in October 2016, to shine of the Gaming scene with FIFA, DOTA 2 and even Brawl Stars.

Brilliance also off the field

From a financial standpoint too, Paris Saint-Germain has improved over the past ten years. The club's turnover has multiplied by five since 2011, going from 100M€ to 540M€ in 2019-2020, from the cabinet Deloitte's data.

The Paris Saint-Germain Academy is also at the heart of the club's development. It gives all passionate football and handball fans to share a big European club's core values, known across the world for its knowledge and quality of coaching. 
The Academy welcomes more and more children every year in France and around the world, in the numerous football and handball schools, in 15 countries and 65 different cities (France, USA, Brésil, Antilles, Maroc, Egypte, Turquie, Qatar, Allemagne, Angleterre, Portugal, Russie, Suisse, Thaïlande, Sénégal, Rwanda).

To finish things off, the club's social impact in the community remains a crucial aspect of the club's development. Aware of the importance of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has wanted to, from his arrival, do more and more programs and actions to help more and more children to succeed, with two Rouge & Bleu schools, in the XIXe arrondissement in Paris and in Mantes la Jolie. Whether it's with the social and workplace insertion, the help to refugees or even the charity donations, Paris Saint-Germain are working on the educational and psychological positives of sport to help people with social or medical difficulties.
