Women's team signs off at home on a high

Paris Saint-Germain trounced Bordeaux 6-2 in their final home game of the season at the Stade Jean Bouin on Wednesday.

It didn't take Marie-Antoinette Katoto long to get the party started (1-0,10'), and the France international soon added a second with a crisp left-foot shot (2-0,13'). Kadidiatou Diani swivelled to add a stylish number three from 20 metres out (3-0,21'), and then emulated Katoto by scoring her second before the half-hour mark (4-0, 27'). Carol's long-range effort gave Bordeaux some hope prior to the interval (4-1, 43').

But Katoto was in no mood to help the visitors, and headed home her third and her team's fifth just after the hour mark (5-1, 61'). Bordeaux netted a second in the closing stages through Delphine Chatelin (5-2, 85'), but Katoto scored again to complete an emphatic win and lift herself back to the top of the goalscoring charts by moving her tally onto 22 (6-2, 90+3'). The win means Paris Saint-Germain remain second in the league (56 points).
