Women's team in Miami for ICC

After their first pre-season friendly against Manchester City, the Paris Saint-Germain women's team hopped onto a plane bound for Miami ahead of their International Champions Cup game.

After landing in Florida the day before their meeting with North Carolina Courage, the Parisians rested up before having a recovery session on South Beach.

Coach Olivier Echouafni delivered his thoughts on the 1-0 defeat to City that was a more promising display than the scoreline suggested: "We had an objective, which was to give all the players time on the pitch over the two halves. No-one got injured, which was the main thing. It was an encouraging performance. We played with some girls who are in the squad for the first time, notably the Under-19s, who did well against a big European team full of internationals with a lot of experience. For us, it was very good. Yes, we lost the game, but we also had opportunities to equalise, even if we didn't manage to in the end. In any case, we saw some interesting things. There are always lessons to be learned from matches whether you win or lose. We're in pre-season, we had a big trip, and the girls still were on it, notably in terms of their attitude, which was very good despite the difficult conditions as it was very hot and they have had a very tiring preparation. They met expectations and that's what I wanted to see from the first match."
