Women's team draw with Montpellier

A few hours before their male counterparts met the same opponents on Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain's women's team were in action against Montpellier.

The visitors immediately took the game by the scruff of the neck and Diani played Geyoro in behind the home back four - Perrault's fine save denied her the opening goal (18'). The Montpellier goalkeeper was called on again when Däbritz fired goalwards from just outside the area (19'), and the Germany international sent a close-range effort just wide as the visitors sought the breakthrough (25'). The Parisians were finally rewarded for their efforts in the dying seconds of the half when Lawrence looped a header over Perrault from a Nadim cross (45+2', 1-0).
The Dane and the Canadian very nearly teamed up for a second after the restart, but Lawrence's left-foot shot hit the side-netting (48'). Huitema shot over as the Parisians looked to give themselves margin for error (55'), but they were instead pegged back: after a goalmouth scramble, Geyoro put through her own goal (69', 1-1). The visitors continued to push and even Endler, their goalkeeper, was involved in one final foray - the Chilean's header flashed just over the crossbar though (90+3') as the hosts had to settle for a point ahead of next Sunday's derby with Paris FC.
