Women's Euro in England postponed to 2022

The new dates of the Women's Euro have been released: the competition will take place between July 6 and 31 2022.

Now the dates are official: initially scheduled for 2021, the Women's EURO has been postponed to run from July 6 to 31 2022 in England.

UEFA published a communiqué to release the news, specifying that the summer of 2021 will be the time for the Men's EURO, initially scheduled for 2020 and also postponed because of the Covid-19 health crisis.

"By moving UEFA Women’s EURO to the following year, we are ensuring that our flagship women’s competition will be the only major football tournament of the summer, providing it with the spotlight it deserves," stated the communiqué.

At the midway point of qualifying for what will now be Euro 2022, France are 3rd in Group H having played two matches and won them both.

"The football family has once again shown unity, and we are now not only in a position to look forward to a European summer of football in 2021, but in 2022 as well," declared UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
