The women's team return to competitive football

For their return to competitive football in 2024, Les Parisiennes are set to welcome LOSC Lille to Campus PSG at 21:00 CET this evening on Matchday 12 of D1 Arkema – what better way to get a potentially thrilling second half of the season underway?

Tonight, Jocelyn Prêcheur's players, who currently sit third in the league table, will be taking on a Lille side who are, in contrast, languishing in second from bottom with just six points from 11 games. In their last league game before the winter break, Les Rouge et Bleu earned a 2-1 derby win over Paris FC to take their points total up to 22 from nine games played, and they have also been able to rely on a solid defence, with just seven goals conceded compared to the 22 that they've scored, including six by Tabitha Chawinga alone.

The second half of their season is due to get going at full throttle, with a hectic and crucial January paving the way for the rest of the campaign. In fact, this month, Les Parisiennes will be playing six games in three different competitions – D1 Arkema, the Coupe de France Féminine and the UEFA Women's Champions League – as they set their sights on making it through to the quarter-finals in Europe in particular, and with that aim in mind, Les Rouge et Bleu will welcome group leaders AFC Ajax to the Parc des Princes at 21:00 CET on Wednesday 24th January. After falling to two defeats – 2-0 away to Ajax themselves and 1-0 at home to Bayern Munich – Jocelyn Prêcheur's side made amends by beating AS Roma twice, 2-1 at home and 3-1 away, taking them up to second in Group C and their tally up to six points from four games.

In order to prepare for the second half of the season in ideal fashion, the capital club's women's team moved into Campus PSG at the start of the month, and they'll now be determined to get 2024 off to a good start by following up their 4-0 win over Lille in the reverse fixture by beating them again at 21:00 CET this evening.
