The Parisians get their first win of the season

Paris Saint-Germain women's team won 2-1 against FC Levante Las Planas in a friendly match on Tuesday 23 August at the Nou Estadi Municipal in Palamos.

Four days after losing on penalties to Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain's Women's Team picked up their first win of the season against another Catalan side.  It was a final dress rehearsal for the Red and Blue on Tuesday, a few days before the Trophée des Championnes against Lyon. For the match, Gérard Prêcheur stayed with Constance Picaud in goal while Ramona Bachmann, Sandy Baltimore and Kadidiatou Diani lined up in attack.

In their third and final match of the summer preseason, the Parisians continued their progress. In the first half, it was Kadidiatou Diani who made several breaks into the opposition box as well as having a header go wide (19'), (37'), (44'). Despite Paris' clear domination, the score remained goalless at the break.

In the second half, Gérard Prêcheur's players took control of the game and opened the scoring quickly. After a foul by the Spaniards in the box, Paulina Dudek sumptuously converted the penalty with an unstoppable shot past the Catalan keeper (0-1, 51'). Levante's women were soon back on level terms though, again from the penalty spot (1-1, 56'). But it didn't take long for the Parisians to regain the lead. Following a move started by Paulina Dudek, Sakina Karchaoui weighted a beautiful cross into Kadidiatou Diani, who was on hand to finish (1-2, 57'). After a frustrating first half, the number 11 finally got on the scoresheet.

The Parisians kept up their pressure, with Sandy Baltimore's perfect corner kick (60'), but there were no more goals before the final whistle. The trio of Dudek-Karchaoui-Diani in full flow allowed Paris to get its first victory of the season.

The Red and Blue ended this pre-season with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat. This Sunday, they will meet the Gones at the Stade Marcel Tribut for the first official meeting of the campaign.
