The Parisians get off to a flying start

In their first league game of the season, Gérard Prêcheur's side faced a clash with Bordeaux. The Parisians returned to the capital with all three points, having won in style after a resounding 3-0 victory.

There was no time for hesitation, a week after the disappointment of the Trophée des Championnes loss to Lyon. Paris Saint-Germain's players had no choice but to succeed in their first league match of the season, a trip to the always tough Bordeaux who will be contenders for a place in Europe.

On the next Matchday, Lyon will once again be the opponent for the Rouge et Bleu at the Parc des Princes for an eagerly awaited clash. In this new league format, with play-offs and a final to look forward to, our Parisians had to start with a win. It was Sakina Karchaoui who got them off to a good start. She converted a penalty won by Martens with a calm left-footed finish to open the scoring (0-1, 32').

3 minutes of madness

Karchaoui then turned provider just a minute later, when she found Sandy Baltimore, who had been left on her own, and who slotted home to double the lead (0-2, 33'). Bordeaux were struggling, and conceded a third goal in just 3 minutes! In the aftermath of the first two, Karchaoui sent Geyoro through on goal alone. The captain then calmly slotted the ball past the opposition keeper with the inside of her right foot to add another for the Parisians (0-3, 35').

Now it's time for the big one

After a stunning 30 minute performance, the Parisians were able to go into cruise control before they face the clash on Matchday 2 with Lyon at the Parc des Princes on 1 October. With an international break looming, the Parisians will be called into action around the world before diving back into this D1 fixture, which looks set to be another exciting encounter.

We can't finish without mentioning the return to competitive action of Marie Antoinette Katoto, who came on for a few minutes. Staff, players, fans and even opponents were delighted to see her back... Welcome back MAK!
