Tara Elimbi Gilbert: "This was a dream that I wanted to achieve"

Having just signed her first professional contract with the capital club, the Paris Saint-Germain defender and academy graduate expresses her delight as well as discussing her aims for the future.

Tara, congratulations on signing your first pro deal! How did it feel to sign it?

"I'm really proud and happy to have signed my first pro contract with the club that I support; I'm a pure Paris Saint-Germain academy product. I started playing football at Épinay-sur-Seine, and I'm proud to be just the second player to turn pro here since Campus PSG opened."

What kind of mindset do you have now?

"I want to perform well all season long. This – turning pro at Paris Saint-Germain – was a dream that I wanted to achieve. I got to make 13 appearances last season, and I hope to keep that up and to keep getting game time each season."

What aims are you setting yourself for next season?

"To get game time, to earn a place in the team each season and to set an example for the younger players."

Do you have anything to say to the fans?

"I'd like to thank the club's fans for supporting us all season long. You've been behind us through thick and thin, and I hope to see you giving us your support at games again soon."
