Spain bow out at last-16

Despite a courageous performance, Spain were eliminated 2-1 by the USA in the last-16 of the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Irene Paredes played the full 90 minutes. The USA will meet France in the quarter-finals, to be played on Friday 28 June at the Parc des Princes.
