Sakina Karchaoui: 'We have a second leg at the Parc des Princes'

Paris Saint-Germain coach Jocelyn Prêcheur and Sakina Karchaoui spoke to PSG TV after Les Rouge et Bleu's draw with Manchester United (1-1).

JOCELYN Prêcheur

"In light of our weaker performance towards the end of the match, you could say that a draw isn't so bad. However, when you look at the entire match, I'm still a bit frustrated. This frustration mainly stems from the first half, where we went into the dressing room at the break without taking the lead. I think at that point, we could have capitalised and gained a more significant lead. It's still a draw, so it's not a bad result, but the frustration is there.

I think we had an excellent first half: the game plan was good, we played well, and we created numerous opportunities. However, we fell short in terms of finishing, those small details that could have allowed us to score. Nonetheless, of course there are positives – we secured a draw, and we still have the return leg at the Parc des Princes. It's crucial for the fans to be there and for the Parc to be behind us to beat Manchester United and secure qualification at home."

SAKINA KARCHAOUI

"We're frustrated because we put in a great first half performance. We needed to be more effective in front of goal to put the match to bed. It's true that in the second half, we had less possession and we didn't control the game as well. We need to focus on the positives, and, most importantly, remember that we have a second leg at home at the Parc des Princes.

Manchester United brought on very fresh players for the second half. They caused us problems in deep, but we take the positives. I am happy with what we were able to produce in the first half.  Now we need to continue to play as we did in the first half and go and win at the Parc des Princes."
