Summary of our Parisians :

To begin with Group A, three Parisians, Kadidiatou Diani, Grace Geyoro and Ève Périsset, played part in France's impressive start to the World Cup. They conceded just one goal and scored seven in their group phase matches. Kadidiatou Diani, top assister in the Division 1 Féminine this past season, played a big part in this faultless beginning, starting two games and coming on in their last match. While Ève Périsset started their last game at right back in their 1-0 win against Nigeria. Now, France gets set to face Brazil in the round of 16, which should be a cracking game against familiar teammate, Formiga.

Brazil 🇧🇷 1-0 Italy 🇮🇹 (June 18th, Stade du Hainaut, Valenciennes)

Summary of our Parisians :

Paris Saint-Germain captain, Formiga, started in both of Brazil's opening matches, breaking World Cup history. She became the oldest ever player at a World Cup as well as playing her seventh ever World Cup, becoming the first ever player to accomplish that feat. Although she missed the last game due to suspension, Formiga will look to slot right back into the side as her experience will prove vital as they get set to face a strong side in France.

Summary of our Parisians :

This was the only group from the World Cup that did not involve any of our Parisians However, there is one particular game to highlight. Scotland led the game by 3-0 in the 79th minute and with a victory surely secured, Argentina did the impossible. They got a goal back in the 74th, eventually equalizing in additional time. It was a game with all emotions: heartbreak, thrill and of course VAR controversy.

Summary of our Parisians :

Sweden's Hanna Glas started in the two opening games at right back and eventually came on against the United States in the final game of the group phase. Sweden's 2nd place finish sees them head to the round of 16 as Hanna Glas will face her Paris Saint-Germain teammates Ashley Lawrence and Jordyn Huitema on June 24th. Another Parisian player in Chile's Christiane Endler played her part in Group F, but in the end failed to qualify, with just the crossbar being the difference. Her player of the match performance against the United States will be remembered however, making save after save, showing her standout abilities on the big stage.
