Paris win the Cup!
At the end of a titanic match in Dante-esque conditions Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lyon 1-0 to left the COupe de France in the final match of the season, and the final match in the career of Laure Boulleau.
Les Rouge et Bleu opened the scoring through a wonderful piece of individual skill from France Young Player of the Year Marie-Antoinette Katoto (1-0, 16'). Les Lyonnaises looked to fight-back but a solid, organised Parisian defence offered stiff resistance.
Les Rouge et Bleu weren't only happy to defend their advantage and looked to net a second goal on the counterattack. Just after the half-hour, Irena Paredes met Eve Perisset's corner, only to header wide (34').
Play was suspended just before the hour mark when a huge storm battered the Meinau (59'). After a break of an hour, and with rain continuing to fall, play resumed and the Parisian's stayed focused on their defensive duties and Mari-Laure Delie saw her long-range effort fly just wide (65').
Les Rouge et Bleu held on to left the Cup courtesy of the 1-0 victory. A second Coupe de France title in the Club's history and the perfect send-off for the team's longest-serving player, Laure Boulleau!
