Paris Saint-Germain women's team crush Reims!

It was one-way traffic in Matchday 20 of the Arkema Premiere Ligue as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Stade de Reims 6-0 in the sprint finish to the end of the regular season.

Paris Saint-Germain returned to action in the Arkema Première Ligue on Friday after the international break, at home to Stade de Reims. Les Rouge et Bleu looking to cement their second place in the standings against a visiting  side in the midst of a relegation dogfight (11th, 12 points).

STARTING XI

Nos Parisiennes lined up in a 4-3-3 formation with Mary Earps in goal and a back four comprising Elisa de Almeida, Griedge Mbock, Paulina Dudek (captain) and Tara Elimbi Gilbert. Jackie Groenen, Grace Geyoro and Joe Echegini were in midfield with Merveille Kanjinga and Romée Leuchter on the flanks and club leading scorer Marie-Antoinette Katoto at the point of the attack.

Paris got off to the perfect start when Merveille Kanjinga headed home the opening goal from a corner (1-0, 7’). Kanjinga then turned provider for Romée Leuchter to add a second (2-0, 19’). Paris added a third with another header from a set piece, this time from captain Paulina Dudek (3-0, 22), as the home side dominated the first stanza from start to finish, and an impressive 78% possession.

Joe Echegini ensured the second half began in similar fashion to the first with a brilliant inidividual goal (4-0, 52), before setting up Marie-Antoinette Katoto to net her first of the evening and 12th of the season, one-on-one with the Reims ‘keeper (5-0, 57’). In the final minutes, Leuchter nabbed her second of the evening (6-0, 88’) – to go with her two assists.

Boasting five different goal scorers on the night, Paris’ ran out 6-0 winners, their third consecutive win in the Arkema Première Ligue, scoring 18 goals in the process.
