Olivier Echouafni: 'The boys' run should help us'

The Paris Saint-Germain women's team coach and forward Kadidiatou Diani hope to use the men's team's exploits as inspiration for their UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.

Olivier Echouafni (Paris Saint-Germain Women's team coach)
"We want to do something big, to get to 30 August, which would mean we've had a magnificent tournament. It's a unique, never-seen-before formula, but we also want to get our name on the honours roll. We have as much chance of doing that as the other teams and the girls can't wait to get started. When you play an English team, you know it'll be a physical challenge. Arsenal are a side that won't give up on anything right down to the final whistle. That's why we have to use what we've learned in the past, what we experienced against Chelsea, and not repeat that. The format is quite different, but the idea is to expect a real battle, to play our game, based on passing and possession, and then to cause them problems. The boys' run should help us, inspire us. We really wish them to come through, to lift that magnificent trophy. If we can also follow the same path, it really would be quite magical and historic for Paris."

Kadidiatou Diani (Paris Saint-Germain Women's team forward)
"It's a unique competition this year, but we're well prepared and we're really looking forward to the game. We've not met Arsenal before, but we've analysed them, and we now know their strengths and weaknesses. We've studied them as well as we can, and we're going to try to counter them. In this competition, the boys are a source of inspiration. We want to go as far as them."
