Olivier Echouafni: 'Get a result at Chelsea'

Before Thursday's trip to London for the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final first leg, the Paris Saint-Germain Women's team coach told us about his hopes for the match.

Olivier, how are your pre-match preparations going?
"Very well. After our last win that came late against Dijon, we needed to put ourselves in an optimal position to prepare for this Champions League first leg. We're going to prepare calmly, take our time to analyse our last league game with the idea of getting a result at Chelsea."

Is your preparation for this game different to others?
"You have to stay true to yourself. We know they are very high intensity matches in which you have to up the tempo of your play and be strong mentally. There are two legs, and we have to get it into our heads that whatever the outcome of the first leg, the second will decide it. We want to do well and go very far in the Champions League."

What kind of match do you expect?
"We haven't wasted any time since the draw was made. We have watched them. They're a very good team that is a lot stronger than last year. They had knocked out Montpellier at the same stage of the competition. They're quite consistent and are having a good league campaign with Arsenal and Manchester City. It's not going to be easy, but we'll be determined to do something good."

There will be a lot of fans making the trip. Will it be an extra source of motivation to have them with you?
"Of course, when they are there it lifts the squad and gives them even more motivation. We missed them for the game at Lyon [in the Coupe de France quarter-final]. They'll be at Chelsea and they too will really want to do things right for us to go as far as possible."
