A successful return for Les Parisiennes against Le Havre!

The Paris Saint-Germain Women's team beat Le Havre AC 4-0 on Saturday 2 March at the Campus PSG, on Matchday 16 of D1.

After a week of international football, Les Parisiennes returned to competition this Saturday. Facing Le Havre, currently sitting in 8th in D1 with 15 points from 14 matches (1 match less) at the PSG Campus. For the occasion, Jocelyn Prêcheur fielded a reshuffled team and showcased the Club's Youth Academy, with no less than 6 academy products (Jade Le Guilly, Tara Elimbi Gilbert, Anaïs Ebayilin, Laurina Fazer, Grace Geyoro, and Marie-Antoinette Katoto), supported by Constance Picaud, Eva Gaetino, Thiniba Samoura, Tabitha Chawinga, and Amalie Vangsgaard.

The club from the capital quickly looked dangerous, but Geyoro narrowly missed the target (18') and Vangsgaard saw her header saved by Katriina Talaslahti (26'). The Normans then had their biggest chance, but Picaud deflected Inès Benyahia's free kick onto the crossbar (33'). Katoto (35'), Ebayilin (36') and Chawinga (37') missed the target before the latter (40') and Elimbi Gilbert (42') were denied by the Le Havre goalkeeper. There was no time to dwell as Les Parisiennes eventually broke the deadlock with a short corner that was headed in by Le Guilly, for the first professional goal of her career (1-0, 44').

The end of the first half was full of excitement and the beginning of the second half followed suit as Chawinga doubled the lead right after the restart (2-0, 46'). The Malawian even made it a brace by winning her one-on-one with the last defender after a fine run and pass from Samoura (3-0, 75'). Two goals and then an assist for the Paris Saint-Germain forward who found Vangsgaard's head (4-0, 78') to cap off this beautiful afternoon in style.

A win which allows the club from the capital to strengthen their position in 2nd place in the league, with 39 points on the board, 4 points behind Olympique Lyonnais and 8 in front of Paris FC. The latter will be Les Rouge et Bleu's next opponent in the semi-final of the Coupe de France. Head down to the Stade Charléty on Sunday 10 March at 15:00!
