Les Parisiennes make it five in five

The Paris Saint-Germain Women's team beat Fleury 4-0 on Sunday 1 November at the Stade Georges Lefèvre de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, on Matchday 7 of D1, to make it five consecutive victories.

After Lyon's 5-0 victory over Montpellier on Saturday, our Parisiennes knew what they needed to do in order to keep in touch with Les Rhodaniennes, the current leaders, but also to widen the gap between them and Les Héraultaises. In the week that followed the international break, it was with a starting eleven with various players returning from international duty that Les Rouge et Bleu started the derby against Fleury.

The club from the capital would quickly take the lead. Played in by Grace Geyoro, on the right, Kadidiatou Diani perfectly set up Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who headed home from close range (1-0, 8'). Paris Saint-Germain were on their way, and Perle Morroni passed to Sandy Baltimore on the left who then found Diani in the middle. The France international broke into the box and struck with her right, beating Manon Heil (2-0, 35').

After the break, the waves of Rouges et Bleues attacks continued on the FCF91 goal. Following a corner on the right, Alana Cook found Sara Däbritz who crossed to the far post where Irene Paredes headed home (3-0, 58'). It was then the unstoppable Katoto who brought the excellent afternoon to a close. The youngster who was celebrating her 22nd birthday intercepted Heil's clearance, broke into the box and found the back of the net (4-0, 75').

The victory made it five consecutive victories after Reims (4-0), Dijon (3-0), Montpellier (4-0) and Soyaux (3-0) and Olivier Echouafni's side also secure their sixth consecutive clean sheet and reduce Lyon's lead to 2 points. They also put greater distance between themselves and MHSC (13 points) going into the next D1 match and a second consecutive derby, this time against Issy on Saturday 14 November at 16:30 at the CNF de Clairefontaine.
