Marie-Antoinette Katoto : 100 miles an hour

Katoto bagged her 100th goal in the Rouge et Bleu shirt this Sunday against Le Havre the striker just can’t stop scoring.

It’s a landmark that didn’t take her long to reach. Marie-Antoinette Katoto has scored her 100th goal in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt against Le Havre in matchday 11 of Ligue 1. She wasn’t satisfied with just reaching the 100 goals though, Katoto scored four goals in the game against the club from Normandy to give the Parisians the win and stay at the top of the table (5-0).

In honour of this special occasion, Nasser Al-Khelaifi was present at the Stade Georges-Lefèvre to give her this trophy.

100 goals at blistering pace

She’s as ambitious as she is shy. A game changer but not often present in the media. Marie-Antoinette Katoto likes cultivate paradoxes but doesn’t have any when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.
“MAK” ended the month of November as player of the month having scored five goals and had three assists in the D1 Arkema.

The highlight of which was a goal that gave the Parisians the win over their rivals Olympique Lyonnais (1-0) in the top of the table clash at the Parc des Princes… That enabled them to go top of the table.

In her time at Paris Saint-Germain, she’s reached the 100 goal mark at just 22. Mindblowing when you realise that she only played her 100th game for the club last month… From when she scored her very first goal in May 2015 a month after her professional debut against Rodez to her 103rd goal against her first club Le Havre her rise to fame has been stunning. And she has fast become one of the best strikers on the planet.

But it's long term that the France international performsMais Her goalscoring ability made her win top goalscorer in the league two seasons in a row and young player of the season in the UNFP awards. Her strength of mind showed that the Colombes native was ready for the highest level.

“Marie is so impressive; she epitomizes what the modern striker is all about. She can be a fox in the box but she can also be part of the build-up play. She’s so adept technically and she can get in behind, she’s brilliant” said Kylian Mbappé a year ago. Since then, both strikers have reached the 100 goal mark.

A vital part of her team and surrounded by great players she forms great partnerships with Kadidiatou Diani, Nadia Nadim or Sandy Baltimore in what is the best frontline of the club’s last 10 years statistically. From an individual standpoint, these 103 goals aren’t going to be enough to satisfy her hunger for goals.

And Olivier Echouafni’s girls have big ambitions for this season whether it’s in the league or the Women’s Champions League. These challenges will definitely enable Marie-Antoinette to show the extent of her talent.
