Lyon take the first round

Paris Saint-Germain's women's team were beaten 1-0 by Lyon in Saturday's top-of-the-table encounter at Parc OL.

Some 30,000 were packed into the stadium to see the game, and Lyon produced the first chance with Endler denying Majri just four minutes in. Diani had a shot saved by Bouhaddi at the opposite end (22') with Endler frustrating Hegerberg (23', 30') and Marozsan (45') while Kumagai shot wide (26').

It was the Japan international who finally made the difference, heading in Marozsan's corner just after the break (1-0, 49'). Cascarino came close to adding a second soon after but hit the crossbar (51'). Marozsan (62'), Majri (73') and Cascarino (82') all tested Endler, while Diani (71') and Lawrence (76') could have equalised.

It means Lyon now have a three-point lead at the top of the table over the Parisians. Olivier Echouafni's team next go to Reims on 23 November for their tenth league game of the season.
