Li Mengwen: 'Ready for the challenge'
The new recruit told PSG TV about her ambitions after arriving in the French capital.
Mengwen, YOU'RE A PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN PLAYER. HOW DO YOU FEEL?
"I'm very happy. It's a dream turned reality. It's an extraordinary opportunity to wear this shirt. I've always loved the club, I'm really happy."
YOU WORKED WITH THE COACH IN CHINA. how did YOUR MOVE TO PARIS COME ABOUT?
"I worked with the coach and his staff for three years in Jiangsu. I've always wanted to play abroad, and he knew that. He asked me if I wanted to come to Paris Saint-Germain. I was surprised, but the thought of playing alongside such talented players is an incredible opportunity. I'm ready for the challenge."
WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM YOUR TIME IN jiangsu?
"I've always played in China, in Jiangsu. I play right-back, a position I also play for the national team. Under the coach, we won everything in 2019: the Super Cup, the league and the cup. I won a lot of trophies in Jiangsu, I'm very proud of that."
WHAT ARE YOUR AIMS?
"My goal is to settle in as well and as quickly as possible, and then to get some time on the pitch. But that will require work and unflinching commitment in training."
