Les Parisiennes tame Le Havre and climb into top spot!

The Paris Saint-Germain Women's team secured a 3-0 victory against Le Havre on Friday on Matchday 3 of the Arkema Première Ligue. Here’s a recap of the game!

Making it three wins in a row to take control of the championship: that was the goal for the Paris Saint-Germain Women's team tonight. Facing Le Havre, Fabrice Abriel's players had the chance to continue their flawless start to the Arkema Première Ligue season. For the occasion, the coach once again put together an attacking line-up, with a 4-3-3 formation and the trio of Diarra, Katoto, and Leuchter leading the front line.

Facing an opponent determined to shut down the game, our Rouge et Bleu quickly asserted their dominance in all areas of play. With high and intense pressing, Les Parisiennes launched wave after wave of attacks on the visitors' goal. It was only logical that Paris Saint-Germain converted their dominance into a lead just after the half-hour mark. The breakthrough came from Elisa De Almeida.

Taking advantage of a mix-up at the far post following a corner, the French international defender displayed her goal-scoring instincts to put her team on the right track (1-0, 37'). This opening goal didn't change the game plan for our Parisiennes. Still focused and determined, the Rouge et Bleu maintained control of the ball, managing their lead intelligently until half-time.

After the break, Fabrice Abriel's players shifted into an even higher gear! Still relentless in their efforts to win the ball back, Les Parisiennes managed to extend their lead after the hour mark through Grace Geyoro. The midfielder surged forward to connect with a precise cross and double the score (2-0, 65'). It was the perfect scenario in a one-sided match, where the Rouge et Bleu were never truly threatened.

Even better, Paris Saint-Germain took advantage of the lively period of the match to further increase the score just a few minutes later—and in spectacular fashion! Positioned perfectly after another poor clearance from Le Havre's defence, Romée Leuchter, with her back to goal, executed a stunning overhead kick to extend the lead (3-0, 68'). Les Parisiennes then managed their advantage with great collective control, allowing Fabrice Abriel to make substitutions to conserve energy as the match wound down.

Professional and inspired, Les Parisiennes have secured their third consecutive victory of the 2024-25 Arkema Première Ligue season, following their wins against Montpellier (3-1) and Guingamp (4-0). This excellent performance temporarily puts them at the top of the French championship. Their domestic campaign will continue next Saturday with a trip to Nantes, followed by a return to their home ground to face FC Fleury 91 on 18 October. The job is done—and with distinction.
