Les Parisiennes honoured at the Trophées UNFP 2023

Five Paris Saint-Germain players have been recognised by their peers for their performances in D1 Arkema this season at the 31st ceremony of the Trophées UNFP.

Laurina Fazer - Young PLAYER OF THE SEASON

It's the fifth consecutive year that a Parisienne has taken home the award for Women's Young Player of the Year at the Trophées UNFP. For the second consecutive year, it's Laurina Fazer who takes home the prize. Previously, Paris Saint-Germain forward Marie-Antoinette Katoto won the award in 2018 and 2019, while Sandy Baltimore picked up the trophy in 2021.

The 19-year-old Parisienne beat Vicki Becho (Olympique Lyonnais), Melchie Dumornay (Stade de Reims), Aïrine Fontaine (FC Fleury 91) and Alice Sombath (Olympique Lyonnais) to the award.

After receiving her trophy, Laurina Fazer spoke to PSG TV: "I am very happy to be here this evening and to have won this trophy for the second consecutive season. I hope there will be a lot more to come. After last season, I wanted to carry on with the good things that I had done, and to show how I had progressed. I am very happy about that, and I think this trophy is a great reward for the season I have had."

FOUR PLAYERS IN THE TEAM OF THE YEAR

Like last season, Paris Saint-Germain's Women's team is well represented in the D1 Arkema Team of the Year for the 2022-2023 season. Four players from the club from the capital feature in this year's team: Sakina Karchaoui and Elisa De Almeida in defence, as well as Grace Geyoro in midfield and Kadidiatou Diani in attack.

Defender Elisa De Almeida spoke to PSG TV: "There are lots of players from the team who have been recognised this evening, so we are very happy. Being chosen by our own opposition makes it even better. We face each other each weekend and we all have an eye for football."

An opinion that is shared by her teammate Kadidiatou Diani: "Of course, it's never easy to remain at a top level throughout a season. But this evening, Paris Saint-Germain are well represented and I think that this is a team achievement. We are proud of that today."
