Les Parisiennes held by Fleury

The encounter between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Fleury 91 ended in a draw on Friday evening at the Stade Robert Bobin in Bondoufle, as Matchday 13 of D1 Arkema got underway (4-4).

After their win last week over Rodez, Les Parisiennes were looking to continue their push in the league with a short trip to Fleury. But the team coached by Fabrice Abriel were going to be no walkover for Les Parisiennes, given that they started the match in 4th place of D1 Arkema. For this battle of two sides towards the top of the table, Coach Gérard Prêcheur started with Jackie Groenen alongside Grace Geyoro and Oriane Jean-François in midfield, while Laurina Fazer led the line.

From the get-go, Les Parisiennes demonstrated their intentions in confiscating the ball from the home side. Unfortunately however, it was Fleury who managed to get the opener, when Ewelina Kamczyk found the back of the net from her side's first real chance (1-0, 15). It didn't take long for Les Parisiennes to react and equalise just a few minutes later thanks to the excellent finishing of Kadidiatou Diani (1-1, 21'). The club from the capital continued to pressurise the hosts' goal and ended up taking the lead: Ramona Bachmann controlled the ball in the box and scored with a powerful half-volley  (1-2, 27').

In a match where Fleury looked to use the counter-attack, the goals came flooding in and Les Floriacumoises immediately scored from an individual piece of skill from Rosemonde Kouassi (2-2, 29'). Shortly before the break, Les Rouge et Bleu managed to retake the lead once more after some excellent work from Jackie Groenen. The Dutch international crossed beautifully into the middle and Kadidiatou Diani turned the ball home (2-3, 39'). The Paris Saint-Germain forward had made it a brace and taken her tally to 12 goals in the league this season.

After the break, Gérard Prêcheur's side confirmed their domination on the encounter: Diani won the ball back in front of the hosts' goal before beating the goalkeeper to make it a hat-trick (2-4, 49'). In the minutes that followed, Ramona Bachmann saw her penalty saved by Manon Heil. The Swiss international was out of luck, given that another effort from the edge of the box was denied by the post just moments later. These were chances that Les Parisiennes would eventually regret, given that Fleury reduced the gap through Airine Fontaine's left-footed effort (3-4, 70').

And that's not all, given that Fabrice Abriel's side managed to peg Les Parisiennes back with a brace for Kouassi (4-4, 74').  The final quarter of an hour had no impact on the score, and the two sides from Île de France left the ground on level terms after a spectacular encounter.

Sakina Karchaoui and her teammates will now turn their focus to the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France with a trip to Dijon next Saturday at 14:30.
