Les Parisiennes dominate in Lille

Paris Saint-Germain's Women's team picked up a precious victory at Lille, on Saturday on Matchday 5 of D1 Arkema (4-0). A look back on the match!

To conclude in the most beautiful way a week marked by a prestigious victory against Manchester United (3-1): this was the day's objective for our Parisennes, as they travelled to the North. Jocelyn PrĂȘcheur opted for an impressive eleven, with key players like Grace Geyoro, Ramona Bachmann, and Sandy Baltimore in the starting line-up, along with a certain Marie-Antoinette Katoto, starting for the second time this season as she continues to gain momentum.

True to their attacking principles, Les Rouge et Bleu quickly unleashed a series of attacks to impose their style of play with a highly attacking approach. And who else but Marie-Antoinette Katoto to light up the pitch and take advantage of this dominance? Seizing an opportunity, the striker rose in the air to connect with a perfect header from an inch-perfect cross by Jade Le Guilly (0-1, 12').

Jocelyn PrĂȘcheur's players executed their game plan with great precision. After another warning from the playmaker Jade Le Guilly (20'), it was Tabitha Chawinga, well-served by her captain Grace Geyoro, who doubled the lead with a well-placed shot into the far corner (0-2, 25'). Les Parisiennes team displayed remarkable attacking efficiency and showed perfect control, continuously creating clear-cut opportunities, with the relentless MAK leading the charge. Always a threat in attack, the striker had fully regained her technical and athletic prowess just a week after her return to the pitch. Her success became contagious for the team.

With such dominance, it was no coincidence to see Paris Saint-Germain adding to the score just before half-time. Sandy Baltimore unleashed a powerful shot that hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net (0-3, 45+1'). The club from the capital ended the first half with 8 shots and possession of 76%.

The second half was more subdued. Les Parisiennes less dominant, had to tighten their defence against a LOSC team that understandably tried to mount a come-back. Nevertheless, the outcome had already been settled. Even better, Les Rouge et Bleu sealed their victory with a fourth goal scored by Amalie Vangsgaard in stoppage time (0-4, 90+2').

With this significant victory, Paris Saint-Germain continue their journey, bringing a perfect week to an end. This result enables them to make a small jump in the league table, provisionally securing third spot in D1 Arkema. Les Parisiennes will return to their home ground in two weeks for a match against Guingamp. Mission accomplished.
