Les Parisiennes continue their run!

Paris Saint-Germain came out on top in Le Havre on Sunday on Matchday 20 of D1 Arkema (0-2). A look back at the match.

Four days after their victory in the Paris derby, Olivier Echouafni's side were back in action with a trip to the Stade Océane to take on the side currently sitting in last place. For the encounter, the Paris Saint-Germain coach opted to start in a 4-3-3, with Huitema-Brunn-Bachmann leading the line.

With four matches to go until the end of the campaign, Les Parisiennes had just one objective: maintain top spot in the league to keep Lyon at arm's length. And it didn't take long for Les Rouge et Bleu to pile on the pressure! Incisive from the very get go, Nadia Nadim and her teammates quickly camped in the home side's half. An approach which quickly paid off when the Dane opened the scoring as she cleverly took full advantage of a poor pass to drive the ball into the open goal (0-1, 6').

With the lead in their pockets, Les Parisiennes switched to second gear! In the heavy rain in Normandy, the chances rained down for the visitors as they looked to put the game to bed. But against a valiant Le Havre side and an imperial Constance Picaud in goal, they had to remain patient before they were able to convert their domination. While the unstoppable Nadia Nadim went close to a brace (61', 65', 68'), Signe Brunn (whose goal was deemed offside, 42'), Sandy Baltimore, Grace Geyoro, Jordyn Huitema and even Paulina Dudek all came close and sent shivers down the home side's spines.

In the end, it was the arrival of the heroic Marie-Antoine Katoto that changed the shape of the match. Because she found the back of the net with a deft header to double the lead (0-2, 79'), before being forced off through injury just after. Down to ten men after a tough slice of luck, our Parisiennes tightened up to hold on to their lead, with Perle Morroni even hitting the bar (90').

After a professional performance, Paris Saint-Germain picked up another victory to solidify their spot at the top of the table. A victory that brings a perfect week to a close for Les Rouge et Bleu in terms of points, and they are now well on the way in the final sprint...
