Les Bleues knocked out by Australia in the quarter-final

The France Women's team were beaten on penalties by Australia in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

How cruel! It was following a fantastic penalty shoot-out that the French team were knocked out by hosts Australia. Our Parisians Grace Geyoro and Sakina Karchaoui, who both scored in the penalty shoot-out, played the entire match. Elisa De Almeida was taken off after extra time. Laurina Fazer, Estelle Cascarino and Constance Picaud remained on the bench.

Les Bleues therefore miss out on the semi-finals for the third consecutive time at the World Cup.
