Korbin Albert: "We're going to take it to the Parc des Princes and win"

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Korbin Albert discusses her Paris career so far, her recent title win with the United States and, most importantly, the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final double header against BK Häcken ahead of the second leg this Thursday.

Korbin, you joined paris saint-germain just under a year ago now. how are you finding life here?

"I've really enjoyed my time here. I've learned a lot from my teammates, and I'm just ready to keep learning and to learn from their experiences."

we can see that you're playing an increasingly important role in the midfield. do you feel like you've progressed since you came here?

"Again, I've learned from everyone else on my team and their experiences, and I'm able to take those experiences, make them my own and really adapt as a player."

A FEW WEEKS AGO, Eva Gaetino JOINED THE CLUB. she's a player that you know well, so can you tell us about your relationship with her?

"Yeah, we played at college together, and I'm just extremely grateful that she's here. We were a duo in college; she played the balls to me in the middle. I'm just so grateful that she's here, and she's a strong defender."

FOUR MONTHS AGO, YOU WERE GIVEN YOUR FIRST-EVER CALL-UP BY THE UNITED STATES, AND JUST A FEW DAY AGO, YOU WON THE CONCACAF W GOLD CUP. WHAT WAS THAT LIKE?

"It was an amazing experience. I'd never experienced something like that before. I think it's definitely a good step in the right direction for me and our team, and I think we're just going to learn everything from it and keep on winning."

coming back oNTO PARIS, THE TEAM GOT AN IMPORTANT WIN IN GOTHENBURG. WHAT DID YOU MAKE OF THAT FIRST LEG?

"I feel like we're just going to take it to the Parc des Princes and win the second leg. I think we have a lot to work on, and of course, we're going to do video analysis and figure out what we need to do to get better, but I'm very happy and positive about this next game."

in your opinion, what will the team need to do to make it through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League?

"Just win and make sure that we're taking it one game at a time, really focusing on what's in front of us in the moment, not focusing on the next stage, dealing with this opponent and doing everything we can to win."

THIS IS A BIG GAME THAT WILL BE PLAYED AT THE Parc des Princes. DO YOU HAVE A MESSAGE FOR THE PARIS FANS?

"Come support us! We're a great team, and I would just say that we're getting better and better as a team and that we're adapting and adjusting what we do on the field. I think it's really positive, and I'm really excited for the future."
