Kiedrzynek: 'The supporters pushed us right to the end!'

Paris Saint-Germain coach Jocelyn Prêcheur and goalkeeper Katarzyna Kiedrzynek spoke to PSG TV following Les Rouge et Bleu's 2-1 UWCL win over AS Roma on Thursday.

JOCELYN Prêcheur

"We told ourselves before the match that we couldn't accept the current situation, that it wasn’t in line with who we are and our ambitions. It's true that we're going through a difficult period of transition, but we can't hide behind that either. Above all, we told ourselves that at home, at the Parc, in front of our fans, we had to show a different side of ourselves. I'm pleased with the way the team reacted. It's true that not everything was perfect, but I was expecting a turning point and they responded tonight. I hope we've managed to satisfy our fans, who played their part again this evening, our supporters were fantastic. I hope they're happy and proud of their women's team.

"We're still bottom of our group but we're bouncing back. We can see that it's very tight, very evenly balanced. Our destiny is once again in our own hands. We know that every match in the Women's Champions League is a battle of intensity, it's difficult, it comes down to the little details, so we're continuing to be ready for everything. We know we've only won one game tonight, and there's a second equally important one in six days' time. In the meantime, we've also got an important game to get through this Sunday in the league. So we're going to enjoy this result, but we'll get back to the analysis tomorrow morning so that we can prepare very carefully for our next two fixtures."

"I'm feeling a lot of emotions. We've been waiting for this win, waiting to get the three points. It wasn't easy, but we gave it everything we had. Thank you to everyone who came to the stadium and to the fans, who were incredible as usual, pushing us right to the end. Of course, it wasn't easy, but it felt good and now we want to keep fighting right to the end.

"We tried to stay calm and in control, even when we were 2-0 up. They had a chance with that penalty, but I was lucky enough to save it. It's good for the team, I'm happy today. And even though we conceded a goal, we won and we've got three points in the bag."
