Jordyn Huitema and Ashley Lawrence win gold in Tokyo

Paris Saint-Germain duo Jordyn Huitema and Ashley Lawrence won the gold medal in the women's football competition at the Tokyo Olympics after a thrilling penalty shootout win over Sweden.

After winning bronze in London 2012, the Canadians won the gold medal for the first time in their history.
Jordyn Huitema and Ashley Lawrence defeated another Parisian in the form of Sweden defender Amanda Ilestedt, who finished with a silver medal.

"We are especially proud to see two Paris Saint-Germain players win such a prestigious competition," declared Ulrich Ramé, General Manager of the Paris Saint-Germain Women's section. "Canada were incredible throughout the tournament and richly deserve their gold medal. Well done Jordyn and Ashley.  This title will remain forever a highlight of their careers. I would also like to congratulate Amanda, who may have lost the final but also goes home with a beautiful silver medal of her own."
