International week round-up

Let's see how the 11 Paris Saint-Germain players got on with their countries in the recent international break.

ELISA DE ALMEIDA / SAKINA KARCHAOUI / GRACE GEYORO / SANDY BALTIMORE & KADIDIATOU DIANI - FRANCE

Les Bleues went wild in the 2023 FIFA World Cup qualifiers winning 9-0 in Estonia and then securing a 5-1 home win over Greece.  Baltimore and Diani scored twice, Grace Geyoro got a goal too. Already qualified for the final tournament, France finished 10 points clear of Wales.

RAMONA BACHMANN - SWITZERLAND

 La Nati also had two qualifiers. A 2-0 win in Croatia was followed by a 15-0 defeat of Moldova with Ramona scoring once in both games. The best second-placed team with 25 points, Switzerland will also be at the 2023 World Cup. 

MARINA GEORGIEVA - AUSTRIA

The Paris defender played in both qualifiers. After a 2-0 defeat to England, a 10-0 win over North Macedonia means Austria will have a chance of securing a World Cup spot via the play-offs.

AMANDA ILESTEDT - SWEDEN

Sweden played just once in the break, winning 5-0 in Finland as they finish top of the group.

PAULINA DUDEK - POLAND

Poland miss out after finishing third to Norway and Belgium despite rounding off Group F with a 2-1 win over Albania and a 7-0 defeat of Kosovo.

Berglind Björg Thorvaldsdottir - ICELAND

A win over Belarus put Iceland on course to finish top of their group, but defeat to the Netherlands saw the Dutch finish Group C in first with Iceland clinching a finals spot thanks to being one of the best group runners-up.  

LYDIA WILLIAMS - AUSTRALIA

Two friendlies and two defeats to Canada for the Matildas: 1-0 and 2-1.
