Grace Geyoro: "We need our supporters to drive us"

Ahead of her side's UEFA Women's Champions League group stage match against AS Roma on match day 3, Paris Saint-Germain captain Grace Geyoro spoke to PSG TV and the media. Here are some extracts.

Her role within the team

"Personally, I've been pretty good recently, but I want play well in very important matches like tomorrow's. I want to push the team up a gear. I want to push the group to the top. We're going to have the support of the fans, so we need to give everything to win this match."

Rome as opponents

"We set ourselves some goals at the start of the season. The Women's Champions League is a competition we dream of playing in. Tomorrow's match will be crucial, but it's up to us not to put too much pressure on ourselves. We've got this opportunity and it's up to us to seize it. We know they'll be a very technical team who play with the ball. They're not top of their league for nothing. We'll have to be aggressive to stop them playing their game."

Things to improve

"I don't think we believe in ourselves enough. Today, we have to do better in terms of our performances and everything we put in place. When you're Paris Saint-Germain, you always have to perform well because people expect you to, whether in the league or in the Women's Champions League. Not everything can be perfect, but we have to show our strength of character. That's what we lacked against Le Havre and that's what we want to rectify tomorrow. Even if it's tough, we'll have to be warriors. It's determination that will make the difference."

The importance of the Parc des Princes

"There's a lot of determination and desire in the team. The Parc is our home ground and we feel good there. We've got everything we need for a big game, and we love playing on this pitch. Our game is based on possession, so we need a good pitch. We want to get our first win. We need our fans to support us when the going gets tough. Qualifying against Manchester United was an incredible moment, and we hope that tomorrow we can give them back what they give us every time. We'll try to give everything for them."

Shirley Cruz joins the staff

"Shirley is a club legend, a role model and an example, and she gives me a lot of advice about my positioning and my role. I think coming back has gone well for her, and now we're going to give her time to take her place."
