Grace Geyoro: 'We come out of this match with our heads held high'

The Paris Saint-Germain Women's team coach and captain Grace Geyoro discussed the encounter against Olympique Lyonnais (0-1) on Sunday 21 May at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 21 of D1 Arkema.

GÉRARD PRÊCHEUR:

"My team put in a great performance, there is nothing I can criticise them for. The game plan that was put in place almost worked. It was to fight against Lyon's press. We struggled to do so in the Coupe de France, today we didn't do it too badly in the first half, and we knew that they wouldn't be able to press like that for more than 45 minutes. The objective was to play high again in the second half, even if it meant that we would be on a par defensively, to be able to press them and create chances. That's exactly what happened. It's thanks to this game plan that was put in place, but also thanks to my players who really applied it well. They played really well and I am so disappointed that they haven't been rewarded, and for the supporters who must also be disappointed by this defeat."

Grace geyoro:

"There is a lot of frustration and disappointment today. There is a bit of a sour taste because we did well in both halves. In the second half, it was even better and we really got up to speed. Losing this match is a tough blow, we have given everything throughout the season, today we leave with our heads held high. We put in a very impressive performance, we were just lacking the goals, the finishing. That's the way it goes, now we need to continue to work for next season. We put in the performance that was needed, we followed the game plan to the letter. We gave 100% and have nothing to feel ashamed of. It's true that we should have been more present in the box, to try and create and score. That is the most difficult thing in football, we didn't manage to do so this evening. In spite of everything, we played a very positive match."
