Grace Geyoro’s France side turn over Columbia

The France Women’s Team dominated their Columbian counterparts on Friday 7 April, in the first match of Hervé Renard’s reign (5-2).

Rarely has a France Women's team friendly been so hotly anticipated as this one on Friday. The first match of Hervé Renard's term on the bench attracted plenty of attention. And the most well-known white shirt in the whole of the country stood up to the task, winning in style against Columbia (5-2) after having trailed 2-0.

With two Parisiennes starting the match (De Almeida and Baltimore) and four others coming on in the second half (Karchaoui, Geyoro, Jean-François and Fazer), Renard was able to turn around a match that hadn't started as planned. It was the Paris Saint-Germain captain who helped to put her side back on the right track, just five minutes after coming on! It was a deflected strike from Geyoro, that allowed Eugénie Le Sommer to equalise, before Sakina Karchaoui also made her mark, with a perfect assist to allow Delphine Cascarino to make it 4-2. Geyoro brought the encounter to a close in added time, as she capped off this impressive comeback.
