Gérard Prêcheur: “Find the energy to prepare for the match at the Parc"
The Paris Saint-Germain women's team coach and Elisa De Almeida looked back at the women's Coupe de France final on Saturday 13 May at the Stade de la Source in Orléans against Olympique Lyonnais (1-0).
GÉRARD PRÊCHEUR:
"I am very disappointed for the players and for the fans who were there. We put in a good display, but in a match of this level, to give away two goals like we did at the beginning of the game is difficult. We managed to come back to 2-1, but then we had the same difficulties we have had for several weeks with the injury to Kadidiatou Diani. We are struggling to create chances but especially to take them. We have to play a midfielder in defence when we need one, and a midfielder as a striker when I think we need one, so it's difficult. The girls fought well, some of them played well. We'll be calm to analyse all that and above all to prepare for the next match at the Parc des Princes.
We'll need 24 hours to recharge our batteries because I'm disappointed too. Professionally speaking, there is a lot of frustration. We are doing a lot of work but we are still not rewarded, so it will take some time to get back to my level. From Monday onwards, we'll have to find the energy to prepare the match at the Parc des Princes in the best possible way."
Elisa De Almeida :
" Of course we are frustrated because we conceded two quick goals. After that, we managed to have the spirit to get back into the game but unfortunately it wasn't enough. There is still a second match next week, so we will work and correct what we didn't do today. We shouldn't lose hope because we have confidence in ourselves and in the whole team. That's why we will work hard this week to be ready for next Sunday."
