France into quarters after thriller

France needed an extra-time time goal from former Paris Saint-Germain player Armandine Henry to get the better of Brazil and qualify for the World Cup quarter-finals.

Kadidiatou Diani played the entire match and provided the assist for the opening goal. Ève Périsset played the last ten minutes in extra-time while Grace Geyoro watched from the bench. For Brazil, Formiga, at 41 years of age and playing in her seventh World Cup, was replaced after 75 minutes. Daiane did not play.

In the quarter-finals, Les Bleues will play the winner of USA vs Spain.
