France ft. Karchaoui, Geyoro and co. held by Norway
A France side featuring Paris Saint-Germain’s Constance Picaud, Elisa De Almeida, Sakina Karchaoui, Jade Le Guilly, Grace Geyoro and Sandy Baltimore were held to a 0-0 draw by Norway last night in the UEFA Women’s Nations League group stage.
After three wins in as many games – including a 2-0 victory over Portugal, a 1-0 win over Austria and a 2-1 triumph over Norway in the reverse fixture – France dropped points for the first time in their 2023–2024 UEFA Women's Nations League group-stage campaign last night following a 0-0 draw with Leif Gunnar Smerud's side at the Stade Auguste-Delaune in Reims, a game that five Paris Saint-Germain players started.
Les Bleues were unable to ride the wave of their win over the Scandinavians four days earlier and will therefore have to wait to book their place in the knockout stage of the very first edition of the UWNL, although Hervé Renard's players remain top of their group.
