Emma Berglund: 'A good opportunity'

The Sweden international is looking forward to the challenge of taking on title rivals Lyon on Saturday.

Emma, Paris Saint-Germain are now level on points with Lyon…
"It changes a lot for us to be level on points with Lyon. To be still in the title race is great. We have just a few games left and the next game against Lyon could be THE final of the season. After being knocked out of the Coupe de France and the Champions League, we're putting everything on this game."

How is the team preparing for the game?
"Everyone is gradually coming back from the international break. We're now all reunited and have a good energy about us. We have to prepare as simply as possible, work tactically, and put ourselves in the best position possible."

Is the team aware of what is at stake?
"Of course. Since I arrived here, my goal has been to win something big with Paris. It's a good opportunity. Of course, each game is important, but these are the kinds of games you play for. Playing at Lyon means you are at the top level internationally. It's also a good test for the team to see where its level is. We have to play without any doubts, with confidence, and believe that it's possible. We have to go for it!"

Do you see similarities between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon?
"In a certain way, yes. This team has a lot of international players, plays in the same 'French' way, with a lot of energy. The tempo is very high. There will be a lot of good players together on the pitch, but also a lot of individual technical ability."

What do you think the keys to the game will be?
"I think we can take the second leg against Chelsea as an example, keep the same intensity, and play more on the front foot than we did in the first game against Lyon. We also know that Lyon will have respect for us. We'll have to stop them creating chances like during the first ten minutes of the game earlier in the season. We have to match their level of intensity in the opening minutes. They'll have an advantage as they are at home, so we mustn't make the same mistakes."
