Echouafni: 'We deserved better'

Find out what Paris Saint-Germain coach Olivier Echouafni and defender Eve Périsset had to say after the 2-1 win over Chelsea, that saw Les Rouge et Bleu eliminated from the UEFA Women's Champions League 3-2 on aggregate:

Olivier Echoufafni (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"I'm so disappointed for my squad, for the girls... They gave it everything and they deserved better. But football can be cruel at the highest level. Chelsea didn't have a chance all match and then score in the final minute. We needed that third goal. This team can still improve. This is just a step along the way of our development. We lost this battle tonight, but we are still in the hunt for the league title. The win tonight is also thanks to the atmosphere here at the Stade Jean-Bouin: the supporters were exceptional, once again. We showed them it was possible and they pushed us all the way. We were so close..."

Ève Périsset (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"We are very disappointed because we played well but we couldn't score that third goal. It's cruel, but that's football at this level. We will keep working hard because we still have big ambitions in the league. It's really great that so many ultras came tonight. They are at every match and we really want to thank them for singing from the first minute to the very end..."
